CRBC TO MARK 40TH ANNIVERSARY

All is now set for the marking of the 40th Anniversary of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation.


Speaking during a courtesy call by the Local Organising Committee for CRBC @40 on the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Barr. (Mrs.) RoseMary Effiom Archibong, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Aye Henshaw II described CRBC @40 as a major milestone for broadcasting in the State.

Mrs. Archibong stated that celebrating the station @40 would enhance performance by staff, attract positive gains and wider patronage to the station and the State at large.

She acknowledged the efforts of the Local Organizing Committee for celebrating the station and constituted a Coordinating Committee chaired by herself and the General-Manager, CRBC as the alternate chairman, with the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Aye Henshaw, Director, Director Public Relations, Mr. Michael Nyajor, Director of Information, Mrs. Paulyn Eba, Chairman and Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Ekunke Ogar and Frank Odey as members respectively.

The Commissioner charged the LOC to synergize with the coordinating committee to ensure a successful anniversary celebration of CRBC @40.

Earlier, the General-Manager of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, Dr. (Mrs.) Theresa Essien remarked that CRBC has been a darling station for generations of Cross Riverians and deserves a worthy anniversary, pointing out that the meeting with the Ministry’s Management is one in series of many to solicit support and ideas to enrich the celebration.

In a vote of thanks, the Director Public Relations in the Ministry, Mr. Michael Nyajor congratulated the Management of CRBC on the station’s 40th Anniversary, pointing out that the success story of the station is a pride to the Ministry and the State at large.

The Cross River Broadcasting Corporation was established in 1978 through an edict by the then Military Governor, Navy Capt. Babatunde Elegbede, after earlier serving as an out station of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission.
